What I love about these little bread rolls, is that they make individual little portions and also keep well for a few days. They are very simple to make, and are just like the simple white bread rolls that you can find at the shop, but without any additives or any crap things that make longer shelves life products.
Bread is most always composed from 4 ingredients, flour, yeast, salt and water. So this is what we are starting with, adding some olive oil to make it a little softer.
Quantity: a normal size oven tray
- 470g of bread flour
- 7g of dried yeast ( or 20g of fresh yeast)
- 9g of good salt
- 290g of water
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
1* Make the dough: In a bowl, mix the flour and the salt. In another bowl, mix the yeast, water and olive oil. Mix the water mix to the flour mix using your hands and form a bowl.
2* Knead the dough: Using your hands and your body weight, knead the dough for 10minutes. It takes some time and efforts, and also patience! When the dough starts to be softer and smoother, then it is ready.
3* Form the little balls: Cut the dough in 8 balls, and using your hands, form equals shape balls.
4* Proofing time: Grease the pan with olive oil and place the 8 balls forming a flower. Cover with clean film and let proof until it double sizes.
5* Bake: When the balls have doubled in size, pre heat oven at 220C and cook for 20min until golden.
Enjoy with delicious butter or jam.
